The project consisted of the adaptive re-use of an existing industrial facility to house a new K through 8 charter school. The project required the demolition of a portion of the existing building and the gut rehabilitation of the remaining six story building and the construction of a new six story addition. The completed facility is approximately 100,000 square feet of modern classroom space, gymnasium, library, science room, art room, kitchen and cafeteria. The building was fitted with a boiler plant for space heating and was fully air conditioned, and protected, throughout, with automatic sprinklers and state of the art fire detection and alarm system.
